Development
Dr. Muhammad Merai Merai-Syria

Abstract:
This research tries to highlight the culture of Arab children books which can be distinguished in its content from children literature, mainly which is concerned with prose and poetry. This shows the importance and characteristics of this culture. It also shows the current status of Arab children books and the motivations behind the publications of such books and the trends that enhance them along with the responsibilties of parents and teachers to boost this field.
However, publications of children books are committed to certain standards, as long as multiple factors should define the contents of thier components; moreover, subjects should necessarily suit the stages of childhood. Nevertheless, they should take into consideration the circumstances and the characteristics for each society.
Nowadays, children books are facing massive obstacles, which are imposed by competitor medias, that aim to gather the majority of little spectators, through attractively providing audio-visual programs that are accompanied with sonic and harmonic effects, as well as colorful lines and pictures.
Finally, will Arab children books be aware of those challenges?. Or are authors and writers ready for such a mission?
